Drawing and painting is the ancient art genere of the world. Even today there are documents which prove that drawing and painting is a base to education. A systematic study of such an art is essential. Although city students are getting facilities to undergo such practices, students in rural areas are not getting much opportunity to learn this unique art.
ESTABLISHMENT:
Shree Chakrapani School of Art is a result of a through thought of like minded artists, who themselves have hailed from
rural areas. It is a dream child of Suresh K. Pandavarakallu. The difficulty he experienced when he wanted to undergo art education during his childhood is the very reason behind the birth of this institution. With an aim to provide an opportunity for systematic study and dissemination of fine arts, which helps for all round development of human being and offers a cultured mentality, shree chakrapani school of art was established onNovember 27, 2003 . The school was later registered in the name of shreechakrapani fine arts and educational trust on 6th April 2006 , for the convenience of administration and development.
FOREGROUND:
Providing an opportunity for children to identify themselves in the society by bringing the latent talents out and adopting self – confidence, patience, concentration through art, thus preparing quality human resource to the society.
AIM:
●To, equip the art enthusiasts of the area with a proper emotional art based in put and resource, complementary to their academic education and skills, there by helping them to become, cultured individuals that make a good balanced society.
● To work for the recognition of fine arts, as vital to individual, national and international growth.
● To maintain the highest values of drawing and painting in their pristine purity and in conformity with tradition.
● To arrange for the training, research, study, teaching and development of fine arts.
● To ensure that the principles of education are adhered in the activities of trust.
VISION:
● Building an educated powerful society through fine arts, apart from creating a favourable environment with a belief that it is the basis of education.
● Co-ordination of creative, critical and academic aspects of fine arts.
● Taking fine arts to wider spectrum to reach every home.
● Continuous fine arts activities involving various aspects and themes.
● Creation of a net work of artists and art institutions to strive for the above.
Shree Chakrapani Fine Arts and Educational Trust is formed with a view to further the intentions of the trust, on national and international level. It is proposed to organize, out reach activities by conducting workshops and to teach the theories of drawing and painting, through practice, for which further efforts in the documentation of artistic materials and the dissemination of the same are of primary importance.
The activities will be conducted to ensure maximum benefits for the individual growth of art lovers.
OBJECTS:
● Preference to drawing and painting, among fine arts.
● Drawing and painting competitions at district, state and national levels in order to encourage students, up coming artists.
● Encouragement and scholarship to backward, poor students who have interest in drawing and painting.
● Recognizing, honouring talents, who have done considerable achievements in drawing and painting.
● District/state/national level art camps for art students and artists.
● Opportunity for art exhibitions (sole / group)
● Special art camps for rural children, who are interested in drawing and painting.
● Establishment of art institutions and art gallery.
● Setting up art related self-employment training centre.
● Organising drawing and painting, events in collaboration with like minded organizations.
● Programmes to preserve and enrich traditional arts.
● Publication of monthly art magazine/news letter.
● Library related to fine arts.
● To preserve, promote, disseminate lalit kala in its constituent formats.
● Identification of talented artists in the field of drawing and painting and to provide them state and national platform.
● Revival of vanishing art types and to carry out audio-visual documentation of such forms.
● To aid social causes through the medium of fine arts while simultaneously promoting talent.
PRESENT PROGRAMMES:
Shree Chakrapani fine arts and educational trust is conducting
classes in drawing and painting for children in the age group of 3 to 12 years and for youth.
Classes are being conducted on all the seven days of a week and are being held in three different sessions daily.
TARGET GROUPS:
There are programmes to enlighten the children, and the trust has been successful in scouting the hidden talents with in them. The organization intends to explore further talents by conducting workshops, under the expert guidence of the course directors.
Drawing and painting enthusiasts from different religions are actively involved in the activities of the organization. Shree chakrapani fine arts and educational trust completely believes that art knows no boundaries.
ACTIVITIES SO FAR:
Shree Chakrapani fine arts and educational trust is the flowering of a cherished dream based on a long and strong practical work, field experience, dedicated service to fine arts. Shree chakrapani has an humble vision to realize something unique, useful, long-lasting in the field of fine arts which need a fresh approach in organization academics and presentation.
In order to explore, vibrant talent in drawing and painting and to encourage, promote, provide, proper platform to young upcoming artists the trust had organized two types of competitions.
Competition one: “Chiguru” – A state level drawing and painting competition for the students from primary to high school. The entries for the competition are received through post. After the first round of selection of entries, the participants are invited and on the spot, final round contest is conducted if necessary.
Nine cash prizes and thirty merit certificates were given under three categories.
In order to encourage, teaching faculty “Sadhaka” and “Sadhana” awards were given in 2006, to art teachers, who have promoted the art of drawing and painting among children.
“Santrupthi” award was given to the school, which has done commendable service in the promotion of drawing and painting in schools.
Competition two: chakrapani kala prashasthi – State level drawing and painting competition for the students of fine arts institutions of the state. Five cash prizes and ten merit certificates.

India India - Presenting programmes, demonstrations by eminent artists from different states.
- Workshops, seminars, conferences and special training camps on different drawing and painting formats.
- To organize training classes in drawing and painting.
- To have own building for the art school.
- Elevating the present state level competitions into national and international levels.
- Apart from art, the trust has plans to organize service activities in different fields such as social justice, empowerment, progress of rural back ward students etc.
THE ANCHOR:
Suresh K. Pandavarkallu, who hails from a tiny village Pandavarakallu, in Bantwal Taluk, Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State, knew the essentiality of providing quality education in drawing and painting, to the children, realized the importance of an organization, which in turn would result in vast improvement of the very existence of method of learning and was confident that a revolutionary change in the very thought process can be achieved by means of imparting proper educative methods.
This turn led him to the decision to establish an organization with like minded enthusiasts and move forward to attain the objects.
All this motivated Suresh K. Pandavarakallu to constitute Shree Chakrapani Fine Arts and Educational Trust which came into existence, at Mangalore on 6th April 2006 as a registered organization with the main purpose of promoting fine arts, mainly drawing and painting in rural areas, apart from organising other social services for the welfare of the community.
Suresh K. Pandavarakallu is an active, talented artist with bubbling energy, and has scores of art works in acrylic, on subjects ranging from nature traditions to folk culture. Though he is adept at painting on any subject his favourite is the reality of life, where he depicts the inevitability of rural power. Suresh K. Pandavarakallu, participates in many art exhibitions and group shows. His art works have been of acclaim. For him “drawing and painting is not what one sees, but what one can make others see.”
Number of children, have been trained by him, in drawing, and painting. Young energetic and a capable organizer, Suresh K. Pandavarakallu has founded the trust with an urge to render meaningful service to the field of his activity and to contribute to enrich the field of fine arts. By struggling hard, against all odds, he has realized his childhood desire. He has won silver medal in the national level creatives art contest organized by Manav Sanket Academy of Ujjaini, Madhya Pradesh in the year 2002 and consolation prize in the state level ancha kuncha competition conducted by Shantivana trust, Dharmasthala, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka State
With all humility he says: “My parents, teachers, have moulded me to the person, I am now. Drawing and painting is my life. Commitment to drawing and paintings is my strength. Serving the people from fine arts platform brings solace to me. My life can not be imagined without drawing and painting. I want to reach out to people through fine arts.”
An art teacher by profession, Suresh K. Pandavarakallu is not content with his hitherto achievements. He has set many a goals for himself and is on a mission to make his aspirations
come true.
